The ‘Solo Individual Wine’ brand is about the celebration of individuality in winemaking. I produce limited quantities of handcrafted wines which display the intrinsic characteristics of the grape and the soil which nurtured it.
The Guildsman 2005, sold exclusively at the 2008 Cape Winemakers Guild Auction, marks the debut of Solo onto the wine market. Scored 92 points by international wine critic, Steve Tanzer, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) and Shiraz (15%) is a wine with class and persistence.
Solo will also produce Viognier and Shiraz, sourced from selected vineyard blocks in the Cape Wine lands. With time, a white and a red Rhone style blend will be added to the portfolio.
Solo is a dream come true after 25 years of winemaking at various wineries. Solo is based in Stellenbosch, South Africa and was founded and is fully owned by myself.
